9am-1pm
The Commonwealth Club

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The inaugural Parity Zone Symposium will gather nationally recognized leaders from industry, philanthropy, academia, government and community to facilitate in-depth discussions and the exchange of ideas about how equitable placemaking development, featuring community ownership structures in high-opportunity, high-cost cities (Parity Zones) can be used to eliminate the gaps in economic outcomes that continue to widen for BIPOC residents and business owners across the country.

“Unless progress accelerates, it would take community profiles anywhere from 110 to 320 years to eliminate gaps in economic outcomes for Black and White residents.” – McKinsey Institute for Black Economic Mobility – The State of Black Residents, February 2024
