On June 7th, The Freedom West 2.0 Development team hosted a webinar to engage and provide the community with updates on the project. Master planner and lead architect, the DLR Group, offered an in-depth overview of the status of the residential building concepts, retail, community spaces, and facades. Walter Hood of Hood Design Studio, the lead landscape architect, presented a rendering for the reimagined outdoor spaces and the Founders Circle monument. Landon Taylor highlighted the project’s community benefits, including a tech and science innovation center that will connect residents from Freedom West and the surrounding Fillmore community with high-paying STEM-related jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities. He also highlighted plans for a childcare center and a planned Performing Arts Center to be named in the honor of Danny Glover.  Landon closed with an update on our growing list of partners and supporters, highlighting two new funding partners: Bethel AME Church and the Low-Income Investment Fund (LIIF).
